Vehicle Description 1990 Porsche 964 Cup Car This car raced in the inaugural season in 1990 and was number 9 of the 49 produced; most of the cars were white with a few being black and only several being red.
Tracing back through the Ons-Wagen Pass, records show that this car competed in the full 9 rounds of the Carrera Cup, racing at famous circuits such as Zolder, Hockenheim, and taking part the 24Hours race at the N rburgring.
The car raced as #27.
The driver in 1990 was Mercedes Stermitz who finished 31st in the overall standings.
A Miss world contestant form Austria in 1983, Mercedes went on to compete in the German F3, in 1982, 1990 and 1992.
In 1987, she competed in the World Touring Car Championship in a BMW M3.
In 1989 she competed in the Porsche Turbo Cup, as well as numerous other races.
It wasn't used after the 1990 season and sat idle at a Porsche car sales center in Germany.
The car was not raced again until 1996 when it completed in 5 German Porsche Club events, which included N rburgring, Hockenheim, Monza and Spa.
The cars last race in Germany was May 1996.
