DESCRIPTION:

This is an OPS Information Technology position that will provide IT support to the Florida Department of Health in DeSoto and Highlands county.
The incumbent is part of the organization and is expected to promote cooperation, courtesy and teamwork in a diverse environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Incumbent must be able toinstall and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners, without direct supervision.
Incumbent must have a valid Florida driver s license or the ability to obtain one prior to hire.
Incumbent must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
This position requires a security background check and participation in direct deposit.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Treating customers, the public and staff with courtesy, respect and dignity, presenting a positive public image
  • Assisting in developing, documenting, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and securing a distributed computer systems environment with appropriate hardware, operating system, software applications and communications components to meet functional needs of the CHD
  • Assisting in identifying, documenting, measuring, and improving Information Technology processes
  • Assisting in disaster preparedness and response
  • Responsible for the monitoring and timely completion of Help Desk Requests
  • Installing, uninstalling, and configuring computer software in accordance with DOH established guidelines and specifications
  • Installing and configuring computer operating systems
  • Installing computer software security patches and upgrades
  • Troubleshooting and resolving computer software problems
  • Installing, uninstalling, and configuring distributed computing hardware (e.

    computers, printers, scanners, etc.
    )
  • Performing maintenance on distributed computing hardware
  • Troubleshooting and resolving distributed computing hardware problems
  • Documenting and coordinating changes to the phone system (e.

  • Troubleshooting and coordinating the resolution of phone system issues
  • Installing, uninstalling, and configuring devices
  • Performing maintenance on analog communication devices

  • Installing mobile platform operating systems
  • Installing mobile platform security patches and upgrades
  • Performing maintenance on mobile devices
  • Sanitizing distributed computing hardware, analog communication devices, and mobile devices according to DOH guidelines
