Case Manager

One Hope United is a social service child welfare agency that serves more than 15,000 children and their families in four states. Although there are countless child welfare agencies across the United States, very few organizations are able to offer the diverse array of prevention, intervention, and community-based programs and services available through OHU.
Case Managers utilize empowerment approaches to provide services and case plan development with children and families who have been involved in child abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. This position focuses on the prevention of inappropriate out of home placement, strengthening and improving family functioning, and ensuring child safety. Hours per Week: Full-time (some evenings/weekends required)
Experience Minimum: 2 years of related child welfare experience preferred.
Degree Type/Area: Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work or a related area of study. Such as: o Behavioral Sciences o Community Development o Criminal Justice/Criminology o Education o Health Science o Human Development o Human Sciences o Human Services o Law o Political Science o Public Administration o Psychology o Social Policy o Sociology
Certification: State of Florida Child Protection certification preferred
Responsibilities:
Meet with families in their homes at various hours of the day including evenings, nights and weekends, in potentially high risk neighborhoods.
Serve as a conduit of information between all parties to the case and identified stakeholders, including medical, educational and mental health providers.
Conduct visits with children, parents and/or caregivers that include the on-going assessment of child safety, permanency and well-being.
Develop and implement a plan that meets the needs of the children and the family.
Facilitate placement and delivery of services in collaboration with biological, foster and adoptive families.
Perform case management responsibilities in accordance with state and federal laws, Department of Children and Families Administrative Codes and Operating Procedures, funding source policies and internal policies on child abuse, abandonment, and neglect within required timeframes.
Attend court hearings, prepare and file all court documents within required timeframes.

Continually assess risk of abuse neglect and threatened harm by gathering appropriate information.
Assist individuals and families in crisis in a way that promotes positive change, growth, development and safety for all family members.
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation and willing to drive daily for work related purposes.
Evenings, weekends and on-call required.
Must be culturally diverse.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
Strong time-management and organizational skills
Ability to analyze, integrate and report data
No relocation available.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
